Bharati Vidyapeeth, was established in May, 1964 by Dr. Patangrao Kadam with the objective of bringing about intellectual awakening and all round development of people of our country through education. Bharati Vidyapeeth is now a learning educational institution in the country, which has created history by establishing within a short span of 44 years, 165 educational institutions imparting education from the pre-primary to the post graduate stage.
These educational institutions which have achieved an acclaimed academic excellence cater to the educational needs of thousands of students coming from different parts of India and abroad. Our teaching faculty includes highly qualified, experienced, dedicated and student-caring teachers. These educational institutions are located at various places viz. Pune, Navi Mumbai, Kolhapur, Solapur, Sangli, Karad, Panchagani, Jawhar and New Delhi. The spectacular success achieved by Vidyapeeth is mainly the result of unusual foresight, exceptionally dynamic leadership and able guidance of the founder of Vidyapeeth, Dr. Patangrao Kadam. It has been our constant endeavour to impart high quality education and training to our students and so, no wonder that our institutions have become nationally known for their academic standards.
Bharati vidyapeeth is an institution having its own distinct ideological commitments. Its objective is to provide excellent education at various levels and of various kinds to all those who are desirous of it at affordable prices. Its Founder's intense social sensitivity and commitment are reflected in the fact that Bharati Vidyapeeth runs excellent schools in tribal areas, exclusively for tribal children.
It also runs several schools and colleges exclusively for women. There is an Industrial Training Centre (ITI) for girls from the rural areas where lodging and boarding facilities are provided to the students free of cost. Several cooperative units established by its Founder such as, a Sugar Factory, Consumers Stores, a Multi State Scheduled Bank, are the sister institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth. The creditable work of bringing together education and corporation, as well as, rural, tribal and urban sectors together done by its Founder Dr. Patangrao Kadam is really commendable.
Bharati vidyapeeth University was established in April, 1996 when the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development granted the status of 'University' to a cluster of Institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth in appreciation of their high level of academic excellence, enriched infrastructural facilities and their potential for further development. This University now has 32 colleges and institutions as its constituent units, located in the major cities of Western Maharashtra and also in the capital city of India, New Delhi. These constituent units include institutions of almost all the disciplines, conventional, engineering, as well as, professional, such as various Health related Sciences, Social Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Management, Law, Engineering, Architecture, Biotechnology, Arts, Science & Commerce and Physical Education.
